Hi Brian, welcome back! Love the colors.
I have one suggestion- you could extend the shore into the foreground to get a C composition.

It's good to hear from you again - glad to see you back.
It's beautifully executed (you never let us down), and I'm hesitant to even mention it (you're much more skiiled than I), but I think the painting would have more punch if the boat was on the water, or even partially on the water, where the dark shadows appear (love those!). It could be the posting size, but I feel the boat is lost on the shore with the other paint strokes. What do you think?

Thanks Priti and Kim. It must be the posting because the boat isn't nearly as obscure when you look at the canvas. Also ther is another boat in the background that just doesn't show up on the image. Thanks again.

Nice painting Brian. I have been studying the paintings in the museums and most of the best paintings that I see of the impressionists have people in them. I guess the presence of people makes it easier to relate to the painting in terms of we humans on this planet.
It is a beautiful painting and I admire your skill in drawing and choice of colors. You do a great job. Look forward to seeing more of your work.
