Interesting perspective on this! I think that adding value variation will increase interest in this piece....

I'm saying that if you vary values and show shape and form that this would be more interesting.
As it is now, it looks a bit flat. If you want just a line drawing then you need to use weight variation in the lines to show value,. If you want to use shading, you need to show a variation in the piece. In other words, show depth and form using line variation and /or shading...it will make the image pop.

That's funny! I also have a picture of the backside of a Gorilla. Aren't you glad I didn't sketch it instead? LOL.
Usually I try to pick something unusual to draw or paint to increase my chances of painting something that hasn't been done often. Thank you for the comment,
