Birds are one of my favorite subjects. This one is a 8x10 watercolor.

The bird is nicely painted but the tree looks a bit surreal. Placing some raw umber to give a deader look to the tree and eliminating some of the branches would make this less fussy and give the bird it's due.

One other thing bothers and that is the head of the bird is too close to the top of the canvas(?). But that's just one of my quirks compositionally.
