Those are awesome.. They look so much like bas relief woodcarvings I had to look twice..!! Very nice work.. incredible depth..!! Love 'em..!!

VERY NICE! I do some work in graphite (not as brilliant as these) but have trouble getting the black really black without ending up with shine that reflects the light, quite distracting. How do you get the black so dark, without shine?

Very nice, very interesting , It's definitely Salvador Dali and a little of Escher. I've been to the Salvador Dali museum in St. Pete and your work could be displayed along side his.

Thank you all for some very nice comments.
Myrna....The pencil I used for the black areas was a Berol Draughting 314 pencil. Illuminating the drawings from both sides when I photographed them prevented reflections on the black areas. When hanging, they display much better with soft lighting from either above or below. They almost come alive in soft lighting!

Thank you Ron, I'll have to look for that the next time I'm in town. To get the picture of Sully with as little shine as possible I took the picture from the side. It worked, but puts the picture off kilter. I'll remember the lighting trick next time.
