This is on my favorite drawing paper smooth bristol...I worked on this all spring and enjoyed every minute...Wanted to get prints but I am still shocked of the cost of scanning it...by the time I get over it and decide to have it done the price will go up.  Then spending that sort of money and not putting an effort to sell any is a waist.  I draw and stack.

Rosie

I hope it came accross ok I really had to lower some numbers to get it below 100ks.

I forgot to mention this is only a partial scan done on my bed, there's alot more to the drawing as a whole. The tree to the left is actually the center of the drawing...there is a squirrel on the lower right branch of that tree that you'll no way see from this small of image...there are oak leaves floating to the ground and mold on peeling, decaying bark, everyone of those leaves are detailed the floor is covered.
I had so much enjoyment doing this drawing...I love trees and leaves, I can't help keeping then for reference, I can't stand to rake them I want to press them all.

Oh my goodness! This is remarkable. Do you really draw and stack?!?!?! You need to get these drawings out there. Gather a few up, mat and frame them and then take them by hand into a good gallery.Or at lease enter them into art shows/competitions.   This drawing would be very appealing to a large audience, I am sure.Your talent is amazing...................Gene

Rosie if you have a scanner and a graphics program you can scan a section the size of your scanner bed and just move across the picture until you have the whole thing scanned. Then just reassemble the scans back together on the computer. I do this all the time with the pieces I draw. If you set your scanner the same for each scan you have the option to enlarge it to any size you wish. Of course you will need a good computer to enlarge very far.

Wingman,
I have 942 dell all-in-one and Photoshop 7. The dell scanner bed is tilited and the incoming paper tray might be in the way, it is attached and is hinged to fold over the scanner for storage. I know I tried once to do a large drawing and things kept sliding and light was getting in where it shouldn't.but this sounds like a Sunday project to work on. I'm going to give it a shot the drawing has been in the closest since I got the $225.00 cost to scan it(no prints, just scan)...Considering cutting it up to get it on even a office supply stores scanner bed.

$225 sounds pretty high for just a scan. The largest I've paid to have scanned was a 12X36 which cost about $90 including a print on glossy paper. Later redid the scan myself because I wasn't satisfied with the quality of what I had paid for. That's when I learned it could be done. For much less than the $225 you could buy a flat scanner and do it yourself. FWI: when I press the button to scan I place my hand on the scanner cover with a slight pressure to keep out the light. Sometimes a dark towel can be used. If you decide to do it contact me by e-mail and I'll give you some tricks I've learned in 10 years of photo repair.

Wingman,
I'd be very interested.
I'm going to get ready for work now, hoping they'll send me home...long story.
But I'll figure out how to get direct contact to you on my return.

This is so amazing, I wonder what else you have up your sleeve. I do hope you find an outlet for your talent, it seems such a shame not to show it off to say nothing about reaping the rewards. You are incredible.

Rosie,

Your work is incredible, yes, you need to get it out there and have some people oohh and aahh it!  Forget scanning, just get a digital camera.  They are so cheap now, you can snap a photo of your work and do lots of things with it.

Everyone, Thank-you very much for the great compliments...
I am so excited to go back to Ohio this weekend...2 weeks ago I took this drawing to a reproduction buisness in Canton, Ohio that had a drum scanner, I had it scanned for $3.50, they were going to E-mail the file(that did't quite work out, the file was to big for my server, anyway, family member picked up the disc that Repros burned for me and have been holding onto it....my daughter says her boyfriend has the image as a screen saver,so the disc must work.) I have been wanting this image on disc since I finished it since May. Crossing my fingers, I hope that the scanner pick-up everything I intended tobe in that work. I really like this one and want to share it with others...I am soooo excited. When I get it, I'll try to post it, this photo that I have shown to all of you isn't quiet sharp enough and is a partial of the the orginal drawing.
Thank-you, thank-you, thank-you

Mercy me Rosie...please realize how good this is and for pity's sake don't cut it up! Make sure your putting them between two cardboards or something to keep them clean.

Sounds like you may have gotten a scan after all. The leap from tallented artist to person who gets paid what they deserve for it has to be more difficult for some people than others. Sometimes because of your natural organization style, and sometimes because you aren't sure what to do next. Be sure and keep asking others on here the next step. Also if you're like a lot of people keep in mind that a kindly (not that they all are but you might find one) gallary owner might help you with printing and frameing.

Or consider paying a trusted friend something to do that part while you happily draw...but please dont' stop!

There's not much I can say that hasn't already been said. This is a wonderful drawing. If I might ask, what type of pencils (grade) did you use on this? It looks like it took forever to finish. I usually hang out in the colored pencil forum but thought I would look around and I'm glad I did.                                                                       gbritnell
