Tehachapi, California is a wonderland of different landscapes. This little rocky area in the park is an artist's dream... I could spend days exploring all the possible rock and tree groupings. The rocks are rough with lichen and moss covered. But I concentrated on the shape of them. I opened the path up just a little bit. Beautiful! Your work is amazing and so realistic that I forget it's graphite. (But I do enjoy looking closer at your pencil strokes.)

Kathy & Kim - thanks for the comments. This is a beautiful area that just begs to be captured on paper! Even though the drawing may seem to be realistic, I don't try to hide my pencil strokes. It's actually very suggestive - just enough detail but not ultra realism. Thanks, Diane
