Here is a picture that I finished up just in time for Christmas to give to my friend, Jim. He is an excellent mechanic and makes custom parts for truck and tractor pulling machines. I had gone to an event with him back in the fall and had taken a number of photos there. When I had time I took several of the better shots and rearranged them in Photoshop. I then made a pencil sketch which I had enlarged and then transfered it to my drawing paper. It was done on white Stonehenge with B, 4B, 6B and 9B pencils. He's a reserved type person but was very taken by this portrait. I get a great deal of satisfaction when my friends really enjoy my work. gbritnell

Very nice drawing G. I like the use of shadowing and attention to detail. I'm sure he did appreciate it. He looks very serious about his work! Nice composition!

Wonderful detail. Midtone could have been a little lighter???

Your work is continually amazing to me!!! It pulls me in and makes me walk through it with my eyes, not wanting to miss any part...
