I just joined the forum. I've been working on my art skills for a long time, and it's difficult to get an honest opinion. I'm 16, I've sold some of my work, but it would be really nice to get some honest critiques on my portraits. I know the composition on some of them are terrible. Some are older and some are new, but be blunt please. Don't hold back. It would be really great if you could post the images to your drawings one at a time, there are quite a few there to look at all at once, very nice! Diane

Okay....here it goes 1st pic: Love the work on the eyes and the pose is nice. Would love to see you add more shadows (contrast) in the face and hand. Also more detail work in the hair. 2nd pic : The hair looks great. Again...the face needs more contrast. 3rd: Like the concept.....but the whole picture is really grey. 4th: Love that there is more contrast in the face. The ear is very small and almost looks hairy. 5th: Nice work on the hair and eyes. Shading needs work. 6th: Nice portrait.....subtle shading on the face is much better! Overall....I love your portraits. I think you do very well in capturing expressions....especially in the eyes. I think the last picture had stronger shadow work in the face than in any of the other drawings. I would love to see detail like that in the 1st and 2nd pics. Welcome to the forum.....look forawrd to seeing more Jess

Dido what Jess said. I too like the poses you have chosen. Not your run of the mill portrait. It appears you are getting better and better. Don't stop now, let us see some more.
