Hope the crow isn't so dark you can't see him.  This is another drawing I'm working on..... always keep 2 going at once so I have something else to think on, while taking that step away from one or the other.

Let me know, be honest.

Beautiful illustrative work! I could definitely see this is one of my kids' story books. As for the crow....not sure what to say....I mean crows are black, so in my mind...I'd almost like to see even more dark color in there. I thought maybe darkening some areas (especially in the head) would bring out the highlights on the beak and around the eye a bit more. He has a bit too much blue on him I think. Just my opinion.

The details in this pic is like looking at it in real life. I love it. The crow, I agree with it needing something. Maybe make the beek and the legs a lighter color to keep it from blending in with the shadows. If I remember correctly, crows have yellow beeks and legs. Just an option. I love it anyways!!

Love it you might try puting a little lighter color behind the crow just on the edges it'll push the crow forward.

I like it the way it is! I think the crow is fine. Darker values might make him look farther away. As darker colors tend to recede. Bill

I've been reading all the comments and I am truely pleased with the responses, Thank-you!

I would love to do a childrens book, I have a cartoon mouse that I've been drawing for quite awhile, can put him in just about any position now.  I'll have to show you him (under another topic).

This is a colored pencil, I would have to take this drawing to the computer and adjust it there to lighten behind the crow...that is something I have thought about, but, would it be mixed media or digital then.   I guess if it's not in a show it doesn't matter, I have mixed feelings about the computer, I feel I am cheating.  When does artist cross to graphic designs...visa-versa...maybe just another media???.....I'm so confused.

I love this just as it is Rosie...it has a wonderful illustrative quality...

my daughter says that adjusting something slightly in order to get the print right with the computer is ok...but...if you work a picture over alot in digital media...it is still your art...but it is now a digital piece.

If you want to see some of my painting...look under oils.
