I love to get loose sometimes. The feeling gives such freedom.

Richard..........these are great.  This is something I long to do, but am having a difficult time with it. I get so icky picky I drive myself crazy.  But I LOVE other peoples sketch books. They look so loose and free and spontaneous. Someday...............

Myrn, I know where you're coming from. We get so tight with details in our art. We have to
let loose sometimes and a sketch book is an ideal place to do it. We try to be precise and
look for perfection. Sketches are spontaneous and you just try to capture
the moment without worrying about the details. Let you're mind go free and you will do it.
I'm glad you enjoyed. Richard

Your sketches have a nice solid look to them even though they are loose and free.

Thank you jjwoodee and Heather for your compliments. Heather, you're right,
the basics are there and it's fun to do in a free form style.

Good stuff Richard! I love the 3rd one in the top post. I also like your beach chairs I haven't kept a sketchbook in a long time. Like Myrna, I get frustrated because I get bogged down in the details and perfection. Drives me crazy, but I haven't figured out how to mentally move past that. Whenever I do a quick sketch, I usually hate it and end up ripping it out of the book and throwing it away

Hi Richard

Very nicely done and it's in itself a skill to be able to do that ...

These are excellent! I've had several sketchbooks in my lifetime, and none of them contain anything I'd feel confident sharing. Kudos!

P.S. Would love to see watercolor added to these. The blending of ink and soft washes would be beautiful!

true use of a sketch book. The one of the beach with the pier, that wouldn't be Ocean City, NJ would it??
