This is one I didn't get posted before I had it framed.  It will be going to a hospital gallery next week with the Iris and Peony.

Nicely done. I didn't see the rose at first, what a nice surprise seeing it peeking out from the lilies. Good luck at the gallery.

Myrn,
This is some really good drawing.
I wish we could have seen it before it was framed, to see more of the detail.
You really got the background black. What did your use to get it that black?

Very Nice--I, too want to know how you got the background so consistently black. Nice work, and the rose was a wonderful surprise. ts

Myrna this is beautiful! Is the background inked or how did you manage to get it so dark?
Love it!

Thank you all for your kind comments. It is done entirely with pencils, and the background is done with a jon gnagy carbon pencil.  Although it looks even in the pic, in rl there are tiny specks of white here and there.  So when I did the background of the peony I used a charcoal stick and the coverage was much better, and did not have the shine that the carbon pencil left.  However behind glass there is no shine, and you have to get quite close to see the white specs. Once again thank you all for your support and inspiration.
