Hello. I would like to introduce my pencil drawings and ask for your feedback on them. This piece is called Tea Time. I hope you like it.

This brings back memories, the white crocheted doily, silver tea service and china cup and saucer. High tea at 4pm. This piece is well thought out. If i may suggest, the ellipse of the cup and saucer are a little off, and with the light source I would think there would be some light reflection of the cup in the teapot. Not sure of course, without actually seeing your setup in person, looks like you were moving around while drawing this. Both spout of teapot and cutting off of cup leads eye right out of the drawing. Small things, but important. Overall this is well done with good strong light and shadow.

Hi Heather, and thank you for the warm welcome. I am glad that you like the drawing. I will take a look at the ellipse on the cup and also about putting a reflection of the cup on the teapot. I don't always see everything as I should. I appreciate your pointing that out to me. I have already sprayed this piece, so not to sure what I can do to make the fix, but it is worth looking at.

Midge--nice reflective work. I agree with Heather, also, the spout, if I may, seems to be jumping out toward the viewer giving a slight twisted look to the spout. I love the detail of the lace and the handle. It's nicely done. TS

Thank you TS. I appreciate your taking the time to comment. I noticed that after you spotted it. I need to stay in one spot when I draw. I made a few mistakes on this piece.

That's okay, I still make mistakes, that is why this forum is so great! You get fresh eyes looking at your work. After a while we can't "see" our work anymore unless we put it aside for a few days, this forum is a shortcut.

Hi Midge, I saw this earlier on another forum. Excellent job with the reflections but I agree about the cup elipse. You probably can't erase if you have sprayed it but you can probably add some dark to flesh it out.
Looking good.

Midge, I learn by my mistakes all the time. I'm happy when I produce something I want to show and then of course I want the feedback b/c it helps me see what I'm missing. That's why I think this forum is great--ts
