I hope this counts as digital art and not just creative photo editing? I do not have a title for it yet. I had a photo of the moon which i liked, but the craters were not showing up even though they had been visible to the naked eye, so i went i and tinkered with the shadows and such to bring them back out. then I also did not like the tree along the left side, so I experimented with the "retouch" feature--thinking i would just remove it entirely. However, I really liked how the retouch worked an tried moving things and copying things and softening edges. then I noticed I had created what looked like a face--so I tinkered with that, drawing it out and making several others. I then ended up going into another program and using the smudge feature to draw in the hand and add some details to the fairy on it. Finally i used the retouch again to add some highlight on the hand. I might go back in and try to soften the edges on the hand to make it match the rest, but not tonight. What do you think?

here is the completed image and a detail of the hand and fairy. I still am trying to come up with a name for it. Are there any rules as far as what is digital art?

Thanks Dawna

Something about the hand kept bothering me.I knew i needed to make it more transparent and make it fit the style of the rest of my design, and then it dawned on me that what I needed to do was to transpose a layer with the retouch button like I had with the rest and it  would fix the problem.  Anyway it is officially done. Hope you like it. I see something new every time I look at it! And I had  great fun doing it too. I am including a detail of the final changes I made as well.

Ok so I have decided to title it "Aeriel's Gift" I think the size would be about 15x19"

Hi Dawna,
Ya, sure been a long time and no comments. I'm not much for digital art, but I do like what you have done. It reminds me of the watercolor illustrations in childrens books back in the 30's and 40's. Very soft and dreamy.
I like the first Angel-Hand better. Just a little more defined. That is just my opinion - doesn't make it right.
I hope the long wait hasn't discourged you - just keep doing what you like.

Thanks for commenting Bruce! I was getting a little discouraged that no one had commented. I sort of agree on the hand, but i wanted it more transparent and abstracted to match the rest of the piece. I would probably be able to do that and still keep the definition now that i have discovered Paint.net, But this was the best i could do with the tools i had at the time. I did have lots of fun experimenting with this though
