I took several shots of my win on computer solitaire, chose a couple to work with and came up with this one - my favorite. It is composed with a watercolor work of mine entitled "Autumn", and enhanced with a repainted card face - Ace of "spades on hearts" - just for fun.

| What a creative, fantastic picture! I've seen the same thing a million times when playing solitaire on my computer, but never even thought to make it into a piece of art!...............Gene |

Hi, Gene. Thank you for the great comments. I saw your posts in Flower Power, but didn't see your flower entry. Did you not enter one, or did I miss it? I'll check again. I stopped posting because this forum is so slow that I couldn't wait for the message boxes to come up, but I just found "quick reply" Maybe that's what I'm supposed to use. So here it is: a big thank you! I entered this to see if it would get comments. I have entered it in two juried photo shows and it was rejected each time, however, I did get other work in the shows. I really love "I Win", but thought maybe I was the only one - your comments are encouraging.

Nice work of art.
Quick reply works better unless you want to ad a picture.

| Hi.........No, I didn't enter Flower Power. I had foot surgery in March and still can't stand on my foot for hours on end, so haven't been painting anything at all. I'm about to get back to it soon, though. I just can't seem to paint unless I can stand and move around. Sitting down just doesn't work well for me. I need to used my whole are movement and constantly step back to view my work, etc. So, I just haven't been at it. You can see some of my work under "Pastel", all posted before March 14th, if you are interested. Thanks. Gene........By the way, how in the world did you get a picture of your Solitaire Win. I played the other day, and it constantly moves! I couldn't even think of photographing that. |

Hi, Gene, Just got lucky I guess...I kept taking shots of the cards spilling out, trying to guess the next move, and got about ten of them. They are all good. Some of them don't provide as good a composition as others, but several do. I have four final versions of this one, combined with other artwork and colors.
I'm a stand-up artist too. I do mostly watercolor and the work lies flat, so I could be sitting, but I don't feel like I'm 'into' the work if I don't have the freedom that standing up provides. I wish you well with your foot recovery! Thank you for your kind comments. |
