Science fiction is one of the things I enjoy and often my art takes on a SciFi theme as with these three.

Thanks Retha,

I haven't gotten much of a chance to look at others work yet but I will soon. I went through a 5 week depression last month and have been trying to catch up on work. I like your signature statement! That's why I use one of my hearts for an icon because it takes heart to get through things.

Beautiful!! What program did you use? Can I do this kind of thing with Photo Shop CS or Corel? I'm submitting one here that has a space theme also, but not as sophisticated as yours. Mine is called Rift in time. Problem is, I don't know how I made it. I was just experimenting with different tools and voila'. I'd better get a grip.

Sorry for the long delay... haven't been able to log in (security certificate error) and I from time to time log into a medical billing network so I didn't dare risk it even though nothing probably would have happened.

For the fractal portion I use a freeware called Apophysis.  I use Photoshop CS2 for freehand and manipulation work.  Don't feel bad about not knowing how you did it.  I have countless times created something and then go nuts for months figuring out how I did it.  I have learned more tricks that way than through any tutorial... lol  I just finally figured out how I did my hyper-gate, took me almost 8 months!

Well shucks, the link didn't work.  I will have to seach to see if I can find you there.

I'm not familiar with the song but thats my basic philosophy.  I just keep trying & Trying & TRYING... lol  I think I might actually get some small chance to spread my wings.  A lady named Dawn Keur asked to show some of mine on her blogs and then she has decided she want to do a website and a lauch for me, and other stuff.  For me that much is kinda scary because I can't hardly keep up with email & forums now, but I told her okay.  If I don't try I sure can't succeed.

Very nice Retha... I especially like the 'Arum Lillies' very soft and excellent color.

I'll post a couple of my new ones.  I also have a bit of good news.  A lady & artist liked my work alot and is helping me get a start.  She has set up the domain, is hosting it herself on her servers and is going to do reviews and promotions to help me become known a little.  It is a real blessing!

Hi, Teknowizard!   Great stuff. Thanks for your reply to my inquiries about 'how to do that'.    I use  Photoshop CS also, but I'll check out the fractal site.  As for your bout with the 'downs', it seems that you are probing both outer and inner space with your beautiful creations. I know it sounds trite - and whether you believe or not - in both "spaces" the Creator exists - the One that gives you the ability to create, yourself.  RE: your art - your blues are the spirit, your reds are the heart.  You've already got it all going for you: A little prayer now and then for His guidance will keep the 'ups' in your life.  I wish you blessings and continued success with your work.

Thanks!!!

Sorry for the late reply... I've just been pushing myself trying to be ready for the Christmas shopping season (my first chance in years to earn some money again).

Sorry everybody for not taking part much.  Might change soon, I am being reviewed next month by a major art publisher and if accepted will mean I have someone handling the promotion & sales end which will give me a lot more time for social things like forums!  Everybody keep their fingers crossed for me!!!

Well, back to work getting things organized on my personal site for shoppers.  Zazzle really messed me up last month with their site upgrade (bad timing and lots of bugs cost me a months worth of worktime).

Oh, A reminder to all for the Holiday Season - remember the fraud, phishing & scam emails are out targeting people.  If you are unfamiliar with these, I posted an alert here at my blog and there are links at the bottom of the Alert post that will help you learn what to look for to protect yourselves and how to report it if targeted.
