I guess one of the first things I should do is post my latest painting.
So here it is, "Red Rudder" 16" X 20" Acrylic.
Currently on display at the Phoenix Fine Art Gallery in Bellport NY. |

I can see why this is on display. You can reach out and almost touch it. It looks so real. Amazing work. Simply amazing. Jim

Thanks for the comments Jim. If it doesn't sell during this show, I might start using it as a submission piece in a few competitions. |

Very well done! I really enjoy the use of complimentary colour. I agree that it would do very well in competition.

Thanks Raechel...my friend Sharon also loves the different tones of reds I used. I haven't used this much red since I did my "Red Wagons" cover for the "Fire Island Tide Newspaper" |

| Nicely articulated! I like the wood grain and the shadowing, and it's an excellent composition as well! |

Very interesting, nice use of color and detail.
I have one question. Which direction is your source of light? The shadow from the chain seems to indicate that the light is high and slightly to the left. So why isn't their any shadow in that direction from the rudder? That shadow indicates that the light is high and coming from the right.
Maybe the shadow that I think is from the rudder is from something else outside of the picture plane.
I am interested in your response. Good job. |
