Hi everyone. Just finished this seascape . I call it " Racing the Storm" It's 12x 16 on  unstretched primed canvas. Please let me know what you think. It was an exercise in values and composition for me. I didn't want to paint the same old schooner you see in a lot of paintings and decided to paint the cruise ship instead. Hope you like it.....

Nina, wonderful Seascape. The ocean waves are very convincing. One suggestion: The ship has too much detail for being in the distance. Suggest you eliminate the windows. And only partially leave in the lines between decks. Very impressive.

Thank you Kathy. I knew it looked too something but I couldn't put my finger on it. I brought colors from the sky and sea into the boat a bit for interest but I think you comment is right on. I will make the adjustments...

Great job on the rough water. My son has asked me to do a painting of a sinking ship. He likes to challange me. Your painting is inspiring.

Thank you, verdezest. I used 5 different blues in the water to achieve this effect.
