Hi everyone. Just finished this seascape . I call it " Racing the Storm" It's 12x 16 on unstretched primed canvas. Please let me know what you think. It was an exercise in values and composition for me. I didn't want to paint the same old schooner you see in a lot of paintings and decided to paint the cruise ship instead. Hope you like it..... Nina, wonderful Seascape. The ocean waves are very convincing. One suggestion: The ship has too much detail for being in the distance. Suggest you eliminate the windows. And only partially leave in the lines between decks. Very impressive. Kathy

Thank you Kathy. I knew it looked too something but I couldn't put my finger on it. I brought colors from the sky and sea into the boat a bit for interest but I think you comment is right on. I will make the adjustments... Nina

Great job on the rough water. My son has asked me to do a painting of a sinking ship. He likes to challange me. Your painting is inspiring. Suzanna

Thank you, verdezest. I used 5 different blues in the water to achieve this effect.
