Just thought I would try something different. Just sit and put paint to canvas and just make it up as you go. Shape, form, color, depth, light and dark all included and  then some. It's out of my head so I called it synapse. Please let me know what you think about my journey.

Thanks!

All the best,
Jim

it has a certain organization about it. I guess that means you're a very organized person.

Hi Jim: Glad to see more of your work. As you know, I'm a realist, and not a fan of abstacts. However, sometime I see an abstract that strikes a note or idea of what it represents. Your latest here is good, it has good color and an interesting design. Forgive my thoughts, if you don't agree. Your abstract would be good for hanging in a hospital corridor (where I have seen some of these). It looks like arteries, and kidneys, and the envelopes below that were used to send the patient his diagnosis and reports.

Regards

Hi Kathy and Hal, Ha ha ha....amazing what an abstract painting does to different people! I think that is what abstract is all about. Everyone sees something different that they can relate too. Thanks for taking the time to stop by and comment. Much appreciated.

All the best,
Jim

Funny, this looks like popcorn popping out of the microwave bag, and the yellow streams are the swirls of steam escaping! That's the beauty of abstract, it's in the eye of the beholder! Good work Jim!

Hi Jim: Thought you'd appreciate this. I have a friend, a fellow artist who does mainly abstract work, unusual stuff. For 3 yrs now we have both entered a local college art show, me with my realist material, and him with his abstracts. Results, he has had 3 honorable mentions and what did I get, Zilch, Nada. Oh, well, to each his own.

Keep up the good work

Hal

Thank you Suzanna and Priti for your kind comments! Hal, I entered my palette knife piece "Old Boat" into a juried show and the best of show was an 8 X 10 abstract of painted pieces of torn paper! Go figure!

All the best,
Jim

I don't know how I missed this one, but I feel it's very good! It appears to be balanced in color (cool/warm, light/dark), rhythm and shapes. What I particularly like is the 3-d effect it has because you gradated (is that the right word?) colors in places as if they were real objects - this adds interest to this painting. It also looks like it was strategically thought out. Now that takes skill.

Well thank you Johanna! Appreciate your comments very much.
Hi Kim, Thanks for your comments as well. I'm glad you liked the 3-D effect. I was really surprised that not more
people mentioned the 3-d effect. Is it effect or affect? I always get those wrong.

All the best,
Jim
