Here's a scene of a little sail boat moored just off the end of a Cherry Grove dock on Fire Island.

The thin sliver of Long Island can be seen thru the thickening fog and mist as an approaching storm brews across the Great South Bay...it down poured moments later...some great lighting strikes too.

Any way, I always like the gray lighting effects like this before a storm. The actual painting seems a little darker over the island befind the boat then what shows up here...must be the camara.

This will probably be a cover for the "Fire Island Tide Newspaper" next summer...since that's what I painted it for.

The depth in this piece is great! Your really put into perspective how small and fragile that little sail boat is. I hope it makes it through the storm!

I just don't know how you do it...but that doesn't matter cause I love every piece that you do and I'm satisfied in just being able to look at them...I guess...not really....I want to know how you do it?!?! And, I am sure I'm not the only one here who feels that way :-)
You have a fantastic talent Jm, and I appreciate you sharing all of these with us.

I haven't been here in a while, so I have to check out everything you've done JM...WOW..the tonal quality of this is beautiful. You can feel that storm crossing the water. The wood grain on the boards is great!
