This is a painting I did on bull hide. I believe it shows the great relationship the Native American Indian had with his horse. This "masking" of a horse was usually done before they fought a neighboring tribe or went to war. I used to do quite a bit of research on the Indian, and I hope my paintings will inspire others to do so as well. Each tribe has a rich history and beautiful culture.

Such a neat form of art. Thanks for posting it. Have you used Acrylic on hide for a while? My brother makes drums and ask me to paint on one for him, I used Acrylic, somewhat like water color with little build up, and wondering how well it will hold up. Any advice? Anneta from TX.

Sorry it has taken so long to get back to you Anneta, I think that will be ok, as long as its not deerhide, I had to learn the hard way on that! =) Thanks for the compliment! Suzanne
