I enjoy this painting... Very "fantasy"-like. And you selection of colors are in keeping with the composition Is this an actual location or an imaginary location. What is the media and size?

Actually this was originally a pen and ink drawing that I did and I liked it enough to make it a painting. The location is purely imaginary but I was thinking of monument valley when I painted it. The painting is 18 X 24 and it is acrylics. Sometimes I like to just let myself go and paint what I feel instead of the more realistic type stuff that I normally do and this was one of those times.

Thank you all for your kind words. When i started this piece, I wanted to do something different than what I usually do, which is a more realistic style. It was fun and made me really think about how much fun it is to do things that are outside of your comfort zone sometimes. I will probably paint more of this style in the future.

It is my first showing of work on this forum. I have be artisitcally inclined my whole life. It's just lately that I have begun to enjoy painting again after about 20 years. I was really into pen and ink drawing for the longest time. I'm color blind you see and have trouble with my reds and greens. I let that frustrate me enough to give it up years ago but I've taken a different approach now, with a more limited palette. I've read a few books about painting with acrylics and did some step-by-step stuff and now I'm going back into with much pleasure. Thank you for your kind comment and I'm glad you enjoyed my painting.
