Subject: I Really Love This Guy

I may have posted this on the wrong forum (mixed-media) as he is mostly acrylic with a few pen strokes to make him more realistic.  He usually has a rather soulful expression which is what I tried to render. Comments welcome.

What a peaceful, gentle look in those big brown eyes...well done, Lucie!

p.s He reminds me of my dog, Smudge. She is a heeler/great pyrenees mix. Same look, but ornery as the day is long!

Thank you, Mike! I can't picture a heeler/pyre mix, but I'll bet she's adorable. I love her name....Smudge..hahaha. Have you ever tried painting her?

Well, Lucie...just picture a 75lb, speckled grey, black and white Iris Setter looking dog. That's as close as I can get to describing Smudge. My daughter named her that because her colors look like they are 'smudged' (my daughter is an artist). She is adorable, sweet and at times a handful (maybe TWO handsful)...we love her!
I have not painted her yet, but plan on doing a piece with all three of our dogs in it.
My daughter did do a pastel of her a few years ago...
