This painting is 7 by 5.5 inches on watercolour paper. Your comments would be appreciated. Arlene

i totally agree about your color work....beautiful colors...reminds me of some of monets beautiful colors.....
there are a couple of things i would suggest....the far tree i would have added a bit more blue into the bark color...to push it into the distance a tiny bit more....this will help with your depth a bit.....the man, i would have used a bit more purple and blue rather than greens and very darks....dont think the color goes well with the rest of your color palette...although we do see him a bit more this way, i think you would still see him clearly using some mixes with french ultra marine, cobalt and a tad of alizarin crimson.....playing with the mix you could get a very deep dark, even adding a tiny bit of umber to the mix as well....

the other tiny teensy thing is tapering your branches on the tips..they seem to end a bit bluntly....some do...but many taper and vary a bit more.....adding those things would make a difference and not change your style...~wink~......

Thank you so much for you advice Betty. I have been thinking of redoing the green man another colour. Opinions are so divided on it. Arlene

Thanks Betty. People were divided on this man. So I redid him over with a reddish blue and then but some of the misty snow over him. Since the change was minimal, it didn't damage or alter the rest of the painting. I am comfortable with it but I will be painting another snow scene. Arlene
