Just finished this painting and signed it.  I painted it from an old photo that I had taken one evening when in NY.  It wasn't far from my old home in Short Hills NJ.
I would enjoy hearing your comments on it since it was not an easy subject.  Getting the prospective right was the hardest part and then there was so much detail.
I hope I captured the feeling of the place which, to me, is the most important part of this type of subject.

You don't have to be kind.

Nice! I have a few photos taken at night in NYC a few years ago that I've been meaning to try to paint. I don't paint anything like this, but you've inspired me to at least get on with it. I look at the photo often and try to think how I would do it. Don't you love Manhattan? To visit, I mean! ...............Gene

This is fantastic -looks almost like a photo. It brings back memories when I went to attend a seminar in NY. We stayed at the Renaissance Hotel whiich is a few steps away from Times Square. In the afternoons my husband would go stand in line for half price tickets to the shows. We went to see one show per night. Oh such a good fun time we had! Good job Phil!

I love it! I was just there this summer, and you've perfectly captured the energy, the color and chaos and wonderfulness that is Times Square. Great work!
