I don't know that I'm qualified to critique, but here it goes: - I like the red background; I think it's a good foundation - it retains the same "fill" and repetition for most of the canvas, which doesn't lend a place for my eye to land - I'm drawn to the lower right corner (where the yellow stroke is laid on top of the black and the gray/blue stroke is above it) because there's not as much going on; it's more simplified and each brush stroke has more interest by standing alone (does that make any sense?) 
- maybe I'm trying to say that I think it would be more interesting if there were a few patches of negative space - a few of the red strokes look out of place, like they were added at the last minute but didn't succeed at completing the overrall project But like I said, this is just my opinion and I'm certainly not saying that it's bad. I would truly like to see you do this again and see what happens; you might just prove me wrong.  |
