This is a smaller study to larger piece I'm working on.  Comments and suggestions welcome.

My screen is showing really heavy (what I think are) brushstrokes across the middle. It might be just the photo I guess. Anyway......love the pear (the lights and shadows are nicely done) and the grapes and the color scheme you have going are great too. The bottle seems REALLY long in the neck. Is it actually that tall?

I layed the gesso on thickly, and its on matte board so the brush strokes you see in the middle are from the texture created by the gesso and brush. The neck of the bottle is long, but in this study it is exaggerated a bit.

I like this, it would be rather stunning framed and hanging on a wall. Very dramatic. The pear is lovely. Well done.
