it looks lovely Bill but the photo is a bit out of focus so you can't see detail. i would love to see a better image

Love this one Bill. I like it being slightly out of focus.....gives it a beautiful softness. I think this is one of my favorite still lifes from you
I like the reflective surface of the table....LOVE that vase (would love to see the details in a larger photo).....and I like the soft background with the light coming thru the curtain.

Thank you. Glad you like it.
I can only partically blame the photo for the blur.. I intentionally softened a lot of the edges to capture the atmosphere I wanted, but the vase did lose something on the way, particularly the base.
I struggled with this at first, but I got some good ideas from the WIP forurm of WC on this one from Corby and Slurps.
The bad part about this workshop is that I have to work from photos - I usually do set ups- , but it allowed me to try this unusual lighting which I never would have tried on my own.

It has a nice soft pastel quality to it. The yellow of that vase is beautiful.
Since the canvas is 8" X 10", it should fit completely on a scanner bed.
So try scanning the image directly instead of photographing it.

Thank you for your kind words- I value your judgement.
I'll give the scanner a try!
