Here's another miniature acrylic painting I created especially for the Fall Art Auctions at the Salmagundi Art Club. This is my first ever city type scene.
"Blue Bike"  8" X 10" Acrylic

Wow JM!
This is some detailed work! The shadows
and faded white paint work is remarkable.
The bikes not so bad either.
Very well done!

What do you mean the bike is not so bad either??? LOL
Actually, I didn't know what to name the painting.
Since the blue bike was there, I figured I'd name it after that.

HI JM....

The sidewalk looks like it is sloping down toward the left and then curves up again at the edge of the building....it makes the building look tilted and that white pole/rain gutter look really tilted. Other than that, love the architecture of the building....and the bike and sign look great!

Jess,
Yes, I know.
Just about everything was slghtly off in this scene, making everything look odd, that's why I choose it for a painting.

Very nice painting. I love detail, and you handled it all so well, especially for such a small size. I always look forward to seeing your posts. Gene

Hi JM, your stuff is unbelievable, and I thought I was a realist. this looks like a photograph, including the sidewalk problems and all. Don't mind Jim, he's a kidder, in a pleasant way, the blue bike is great. Look forward to seeing more. Why do you work that small?

JM, Great work! I especially like the texture of the fabric and the board inside the windows. The depth in your details make it look quite realistic!

-Hal, I don't normally work this small.
There just happen to be a few upcoming miniature painting show's I'll be in so I've been working on getting paintings done for those.
Painting this small can be a killer on the eyes!!!
I'm dying to do something larger soon, hopeful in December!
I painted this for the Fall Art Auctions at the Salmagundi Art Club in NYC (yes, it sold...and very well too)

Hi Jm: Thanks for getting back to me. I kept checking to see if you got my message. But I'm still on dial-up and you wouldn't believe how long it takes to login and get to the Forum to answer. I've ordered a kit for the Comcast Hi Speed, whioh hopefully will get me in more often and a heck of a lot fasster. As I said, Love your stuff and glad to hear you made a sale with the Blue Bike.

Very good for your first city scene - you've captured it well. How about naming it "Storefronts".

I think calling the painting simply "Blue Bike" was perfect...if I must say so myself.
Caught everyone's attention during the auction at the club.
Every time the auctioneer mentioned thing's like "It's really a nice blue bike" or "You'll never get a flat with this blue bike" the bid's went higher!!!
Had every one cracking up, me included.
Course now I have to top myself come the spring auctions...

I really like this painting. I like the pattern and movement created  by the repeated windows and the fronts at the sidewalk. Arlene Babad
