This is a painting of a pretty area in Vineland, Georgia.  Actually a suberb of Atlanta.  I loved the effect of the light and tried to capture it.  So much work in this painting. I'm not sure that I will tackle another of this type with all of the detail, but it was fun to try.

Painting is acrylic on linen 20 x 24.

Would love to hear critiques on this one before I sign it so that I might be able to make it better than it is.

Thanks for your help,

Phil

Phil, This is captivating! The rocks and the path leading up and away are intriguing and make me want to go there and explore!

Love the lighting and I think you did a great job on that little stream.

Phil, great job! You've got a lot of detail and it's obvious that you took great care to paint this. Wouldn't change a thing.

The water is especially nicely done. In the finished painting you brought the two trees forward and gave the scene the depth it needed. Very nice!

Great job at finishing! That front area left was the only thing that bothered me, you darkened other areas, great job! frame it, hang it!

Georgeous. You've really enlivened it by adding more light. I love the lavendars but they're mostly on the right. I'd cross-reference them elsewhere some more. The green leaves are very bright on the right tree and maybe stand out too much. Also, maybe add some leaves on the left tree for balance. Beautiful painting.

Very nice piece. I agree with Michele about adding some of the lavenders to the right side. But, it is really very good as it is, too..........Congratulations. Gene

lovely light and the water area works brilliantly..I agree that the lavenders on the right need a little balancing on the left side, maybe in the shadowed areas under leaves you could use a darker lavender tone?Otherwise a lovely painting ,great!
