This is a painting I made not long ago. I don't like those paintings that look so constrained. I see a lot of paintings like that every day. I see also many paintings that look neaty and technically perfect but soullees. Thats why I try my paintings to look more crude, more loose. I don't want to hide the fact that somebody painted it, by the contrary I want to show that, I want people to be able to recognize brushstrokes and imperfections.

I appreciate any comments about this. Let me know what you think.

Thanks

Andres

Andres, I very much like your loose style and your colors. I think that you could improve the composition, just a bit, by straightening the horizon line and breaking up the large bright green foliage shape in the lower left corner. My reason for saying this is that the picture seems to be sliding off to the left side.
Overall this is nice work. I am looking forward to seeing more of your art.

Regards,
Greg.

*applaud* Bravo. Though I don't doubt that photo-realism takes a lot of skill, it's not my cuppa tea, If I wanted a photograph, I'd look at a photograph. Color, movement, and expression take precedence over realism anyday.

That said, you have very nice colors there. I really like the purple shadows on the church.

Thanks for the comments. You're right Greg about the composition. What happens is that you are only seeing the left half of the painting, the right half was made in another canvas. The composition looks right when you put the two canvases together. I agree with what Larimar says about the skills you need to make a photo-realistic painting. But technique without soul is pointless. I prefer less technique and more passion, more expression.
