This is the painting that lead me to becoming a member at the Salmagundi Art Club in NYC.
I entered it into the Non-Member's Juried Exhibition in 2006 where upon it won the National Society of Painters in Casein & Acrylic, Inc Award.

I can understand how you won.  It is a beautiful painting, especially in acrylics, which I work with on and off.  I can't get this kind of blending in acrylics.  I can in oils which I do prefer.

WOW, I can imagine why you won. Wonderful art. Did you do the sky wet-on-wet or using glazing?

Thank you all.

Aruna, I did a wet on wet blend with the paint.
I did add some re tarter when mixing colors for the sky.
I had to work quickly and then leave the room until it was completely dry to see if I liked what I did...acrylics tend to dry a little darker.
I then added a light yellow haze glaze.
I reserved some of the original sky colors I mixed to add to the distant dunes and grass colors so they would fall back even more.
I may have added another glaze over that...I don't remember
