Here's a recent painting that sold at the Art's Project of Cherry Grove Annual Art Show. Did well there this year.

Hi JM,
I like this. Is this any particular beach?

Very lovely, my eyes are tired right now and when I first looked at it I thought the water was actually moving! Very strange feeling. Anyway I like the simplicity of the scene. Looks like a place where I would go to read a book and relax.

What a lonely feeling this one has. I like it, though. Well done.

As much as I love going to the beach, on overcast days they can look very lonely, sometimes they have that alien landscape feel to them.

I'm a Long Island native recently transplanted to NJ. I've found some beautiful dunes on the shore here, but the LI dunes are still special to me.

This lovely painting recalls to me Walt Whitman's sad but uplifting masterpiece "Out Of The Cradle Endlessly Rocking" which is set on a simiilar beach which he walked as a young boy from Huntington in the early 1800's.

Nicely done!

Bill, all good paintings should invoke a memory of some sort that we identify with.
Only problem is that not all paintings contain a memory for the viewer.
I am glad that this painting invoked a memory for you.

Hi - love the peaceful aloneness of the beach on a moody day. Walked a few beaches in the fall in the North East and in the Carolinas. No better place to settle your mind and come to decisions. You caught a special feeling - may all your paintings feel this way.

Have you tried looking at Port Jefferson Harbor and the bluffs at Rocky Point Beach on the north shore.
I was tempted but went south before I could do it. art 81
