Just the acrylic, Art Clinic and Paint-Off forums. Did you have a question for another forum? I can pass it along.

Hi Lisa: Good to know who the monitor is. Welcome. I've always wondered, in the Acrylic mode, what the stars, the yellow ones mean and have never had an explanation. Please explain what they represent.

I was under the impression that the stars represented a topic which received a lot of views. This may/may not the the case. I am checking.
Best,
Lisa

I thought the stars referred to the number of times the piece was viewed. Am I wrong?.........Gene

I've read somewhere that says the stars are for numbers of time the person has posted for the forum (on one track). For example, Lisa got three stars on this track already.

Hello all:
Re yellow stars- go to " Artists.com FAQ". Click on it. When the topic page appears, click "What do the icons mean?" by Dana. There is your answer.-Sandi

Actually it IS a rating system!! You can click on a star to rate a particular thread. For example, I just gave the "Garden Angel" paint-off a star.
Sorry for the confusion, but now we know--and will have to change this in the FAQs.

Lisa:
That's interesting! That means I can vote for my own posting. Actually I will never do it even if I can.

thanks Lisa and Sandi, I will have to watch the FAQ's for how this works with the stars, because you both explained it in different ways.

sandi You can't vote for your own painting, it is set up like that only others can.

Hello. I am new to this and have a few questions. Frist, how do you get an image over by the author. Also what do the yellow stars mean and how do they get there. I assumed maybe when it has been viewed a lot but that does not seem to be the case. Thanks, Lucy.

Hi Lucy, You can find the answers to your questions (and others) in the FAQs section of the message board. We actually just addressed the stars question above.
Enjoy the forum!

If so how?
