Hi Everyone

I reworked this painting three times so what you see is covering 2 paintings underneath (I thought the others were better looking ) I fiddled so much I destroyed maybe a better rendition. (Good lesson)

The bottom right hand has a dead spot I think the canvas panel was picking up light and it did not photograph well, but it was done in acrylic on a 12 x 16 previously used canvas panel.

Your comments are greatly appreciated.

Anghwar

Edit: I have removed the original scroll for the updated painting

Nice Painting Anghwar. It gives me the feeling of solitude. I like paintings that give me feelings!

I think you have done a very nice job on this one.
I like the misty affect. I wish the photo was a little lighter.
I think the detail in the grass would have been interesting to see.

Thank you so much Jim

I am so disappointed at my photographic skills, this is the 4th try, perhaps I can try one more in sunlight tomorrow, if we have any, and I will repost it. The painting is brighter even though it is misty.

I put the painting next to my computer and tried to emulate the colors in a graphics program. This is close to the painting, however the blue sky is a little more pronounced on the computer and the pink sky is a little more pronounced on the painting.

Hope this gives you a better view.

Hi Anghwar,
I like your composition, the way that your road leads into the subject of the painting, how you tie your foreground to the sky and set boundries for the focus of the painting with the vetical leafless trees. And I like the delicate blurring of the subject trees in the background at the end of your road that very much give credence to a 'Misty Morning.'

Leon

Thank you so much for taking the time to comment on my painting, I went back to the painting to see how you were seeing it. I so totally don't have the confidence yet .

Anghwar,

I like this painting much better than the other one, and here's why. You have captured "mood" with arial perspective--lavender usedin this manner is a good friend of the landscape painter. You have also made good use of complimentary color. The only area I have a problem with is that of the road--and I think it's because you painted from a photo, and instead of getting loose with it like the trees and background landscape, you tightened up. What I would do with the foreground is grow the front grasses taller to bring them foreward--keep them loose, narrow and soften the road toward the horizon, widen it in the foreground so it doesn't go to the corner of the painting (another design no-no). Frame it and hang it.
