This will be the last commissioned piece before the show June 16th. It's a painting from a sail boat of Puget Sound, Washington. It's sunset and your looking toward Bremerton. The boat belongs to the couple I did the painting for. Hope they like it. It's 16 X 20 acrylic on canvas. Please let me know what you think.

Thanks!

This is lovely Jim. Such wonderful warm colors. I am sure the couple will love it. Good luck on your upcoming show. My first one is in July and I am very nervous.

Just put this under the new landscapes contest heading. Lisa said that seascapes qualify.
Cool!

Jim, great choice and exciting use of vibrant colors. I love how the dark waves or slight ripples (that appear to be dark brown-like color) add contrast on the right of what appears to be a reflection down the center. But I'm curious as to why don't they appear on the left. Also, I'm wondering if it would be appropriate to add some of the blues and purples from the sky to the water on the left side - just a bit. Maybe they're there, but digitally they didn't "take".

I look forward to hearing how your show goes (next weekend?). You've got a very nice variety to offer.

Hi Heather,
Thanks, I appreciate your comments on this one.
My friends love it! This is what I've been waiting for. These are people that are excited about what I did for them and are telling all their friends about it. A lot of people will say that they'll tell all their friends, but these two actually are. I've already gotten calls about future commission work. This is great and it's happening before the show! I'll take some pictures at the show so you can see what it was all about.

Hi Kim,
This is actually how the waves looked in the photo. I guess I could of enhanced it a bit, but they loved the photo so why change it. The contrast on the left side didn't come out quite as well as I would have liked, but I think the flash may have affected it. I really can't explain why the blues and purple didn't show up in the water in the photo. My only thought is that it's sunset and the dark water tends to absorb the light instead of reflecting it when sunlight starts to fade. Thanks for your input.

Thanks Jess and Kim,
Time is getting short and I'm not really sure how to transport all these paintings.
Can't find a container tall or wide enough. Maybe I'll just double up some trash bags.
Any ideas?

I use bubble wrap for shows, doesn't weigh anything and protects both frame and painting from bumps. Plus it is reusable. I take a large trash bag with me and fold the bubble wrap to store it in the trash bag until needed.

What a lovely painting and just the essence of the sailboat. I live on a sailboat and have seen sunsets like this. Yes, your client should be very happy.
I visited your website and enjoyed your paintings. Your enthusiasm and personality come through in your work and this forum. Good luck with your show.
