This is very nice work Sue,
I wish this was bigger so we could see more of the detail.
With this kind of quality work, I don't think you are going to
have any problems in your upcoming show.

I also wish I could see it better. But it does look like a very nice painting. I like your limited palette. Is there any way you can re-post it bigger? Then I think you could receive a better critique...........Thanks. Gene

Thanks thebrush, Jim and Gene for your comments. I have reposted the pic in a bigger size. Let me know if it works for you or if it should be bigger.

I'm not an expert by any means of the definition, but these are my observations.
I like how the warmth of the greens and yellows compliment the cool blues in the water. The lighter trees in the background really give it some depth. The lime green highlights appear to be apppropriately placed. The whitish highlight on the tree in the foreground corresponds very well with the strong light "coming in". The rocks are scattered nicely, without looking like an "outline" along the stream. I like how I feel I'm in this scene.
It may be how the image posted here, but I'm having trouble with the grassy area in the lower left corner. The grass on the right looks "grounded" and waving in the breeze. However, I can't make out the left very well - it looks like there is a drop-off which distracts me. Maybe you can clarify that for me.
I am fascinated by your trees because I don't do them successfully. Your foliage is balanced with darks and lights and your bark is detailed in the right places.
It's a very beautiful painting; I REALLY like it.
