Acrylic paints on paper 27 cm x 30 cm. I am still thinking what else to do and what to change. Any crutuques?
And one more question: I am not sure about whites in the right, should I tone it down a bit? |

I love the blowing curtain, I think it is a lovely piece. Makes me think of spring. The only thing I wonder about is that this is back lite, would there be stronger contrast in the shadows? But I am not sure I would try to change anything. scochran

I agree with Shana, funny I just said her piece was lovely, I guess they both have that warm romantic spring feeling about them! I like the strong light to the right, I would leave it. And, I don't know if I would add darker shadows, I think part of this piece's charm is the warmth that all the light gives off. The only thing that caught my eye, was that I see peonies as a more rounded, meaning the pedals curve down and form a ball for the most part, even though they are ragged on the edge when fully open, generally when you see them there are usually at least a couple fo solid ball buds, and very often very round blooms... now thet's not saying that this painting doesn't work the way it is, it does, its just that to me because you called it peony... if you called it "spring" or something less identifying I probably wouldn't even have mentioned it... just a thought, I still think its "lovely" too!

I really like the soft colours that work very well. I am a little confused about light source. I am not sure I would change anything either! Live with it for a while.

I would leave the highlights as they are. Just a suggestion - because the leaves are nice and dark I would darken the shadow values, especially on the vase on the left side because it disappears into the background, and maybe deepen some of the shadows in the petals because the light is coming from behind. Will make for a stronger painting. If not, it is still lovely as is.

good soft painting.
I checked the values by desaturation and it is good. Dark and light contrasts.

This is very nice. A nice improvement from the first posting. I like the way you deepened the values on the flowers. I agree, the curtains look so soft and delicate. Lovely. Gene
