I painted this bear after a trip to a zoo where we visited the "bear pit". These huge creatures have learned to do tricks to get us to throw more food for them. This guy was just sitting there looking up at us. Thus the title captive audience.

This really well done, you do excellent work with water. The expression says it all, waiting for food.

Thanks Heather and Jim. I'm glad you like the water in this piece. It gave me the most grief! I have learned that I tend to paint using bold colors and high contrast and I am not always sure if it 'works". I have only recently come to think of myself as having a style of painting but I guess that's it.

I only have a couple of other completed paintings I could post but I'm not sure if I should post them now or wait awhile. I paint very slowly so then there would be a definite lag.

Bye for now, Raechel

Raechel,
Don't worry about time lag, we don't have deadlines here. I sometimes go a couple of months without posting while working on a painting. The fun of this forum is seeing others works and commenting on them, reading the other comments, I have learned a lot from doing just that. Then when my painting is finished I post it.

So post whenever you want critiquing of your work.
