The chipmunks that my children have tamed were the inspiration for this painting. I am fascinated that their never ending quest for food overpowers thier fear of us.

This little guy must decide if he should risk jumping into my daughter's hand to get the peanut hidden inside!

This is a precious painting. I wish it were larger so we could see the details better. I'm looking at your daughter's hand. Is the top of the thumb that big? It seems out of proportion to me, but maybe it's because I can't see it very well. We have a lot of chipmunks in our backyard, much to my chagrin, as far as my garden goes. They eat the buds off of my newly emerging plants all of the time!!! But, they are kind of cute, aren't they? I love the composition of your piece and also the colors chosen. Just wish it were bigger. But, I know, reducing them down to 100K makes them appear smaller on the screen sometimes.
Thanks for sharing this...............Gene

This is a nice piece. Reminds me of my life in the woods. Very well done indeed. You have done a great job of capturing the Chipmunk.

This is quite small, but looks like it is a really good job. I like the composition.

Hi all, I realize that the picture is quite small but I am having some trouble sizing this piece. It is either too big and won't be accepted or too small that you all need a magnifying glass to see it!!

Gene, we have many of these critters around here but we don't seem to have trouble keeping them out of the garden. I'm sure that the pounds of peanuts and sunflower seeds the kids feed them have something to do with it! The top of my daughter's thumb does look a bit out of proportion but it's because she had her hand cupped to hold the peanuts in so that the chipmunk would have to jump into her had to get them. He did jump in bu the way and ran all the way up her arm and jumped off her shoulder!

Oh, this is so much better. I love the elongated horizontal composition. Also love the colors. I'm glad you were able to get it posted larger. Thanks. Gene
