Has anyone heard of a site called "Artaissance"?  Have you sold paintings with them? What is a good web gallery to post and try to sell work on?  Any suggestions?????

I have not heard of "Artaissance" but I have my art in two other places. 1. is www.mosaicglobe.com and another is www.asingularcreation.com They both have their own competitions and you can have free pages to show your art. I have not sold anything yet, but I am not discouraged. I am working on other means for my art.

Good Luck!

I havnt heard of that one but I have found that a lot of websites can have so many artists listed on them it is hard to be noticed. I have my own website which I refer to when people want to see what I do, and you can link your page to other sites that get more traffic. Sites like Pastel societies are good to promote your work, and they get a lot of hits. I havent used my website for sales as I have a gallery that sells them so I dont want to damage that relationship, so I just have images without prices that way you dont get caught out with different pricing. I think websites are a valuable tool but you have research the best way to use them.

Hi Maria,
I visited your website, your work is beautiful! Thank you for the response. I think that my next step is to create my own website. I have been putting it off because I'm not too sure where to start, but I know that its so important. It's a good idea not to put prices on the work. I would just be showing it to people who inquire about my art. Good luck with your work.

wow, your work is great, I love the still lifes, especially the fresh picked and blue teapot. that website works well you can see your images really clearly and is set out well, so you sell many of your prints on there? Do they take a percentage of the sale? well done.

Thanks Maria,
The site was easy to put my work on, but I have to do some work at getting people to it. No, they don't take a percentage, they just sell prints and they do the printing and sending. It is a good deal. It doesn't even cost anything for one gallery. You may want to check it out. I know that marketing your own work is very important but it's something that I have to get to work on. It's all part of being an artist I guess. But I don't think that's the fun part!!! I've had a few shows and some work in a nice restaurant in my town, but not many sales. I'm not giving up though, because I love my art. I'm sure you know what I mean.

Yeah I sure do, after 28 years of slog and struggle, its certainly not money that keeps your going. Just another tip that works for me, I print out photos of my work and attach them to blank cards on which I include my website and contact on the back using inexpensive stickers. It is a good promotional tool doesnt cost alot and you make a profit on them when you sell them. Galleries will often buy them for their art card range and they also become interested in your work especially when people start buying them.

Hi Slfranklin,

I just released a website that allows artists to create a free gallery. Artists are encouraged to showcase, sell, and barter their artwork. You can add a biography, links, and there is an optional review system.

If you want additional exposure for your work, please create a gallery and upload your art.
