Hello Viking Wife, The example of your art is lovely and should sell if you find the right buyer. Knowing were to find that buyer, how to contact, what to say, how to price your work and present yourself will mean the differnce between success and frusrtration. How do I know? I spent more than 20 years as a producing artist and art rep selling hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of art each year. I put what I learned as a rep into podcasts that will answer all your questions and they are available FREE at www.salestipsforartists.com.
Please visit, listen and get back to me for any additional information you'd like.
And, yes, any income you make as an artist is taxable as income, but if you conduct your art sales as a real business all your expenses - materials, auto, travel, insurance, studio space, etc. etc. are deductible. I'd contact an accountant for specifics.
Hope this helps, Dick Harrison |
