09/09/2007 4:23 PM Alert

I have an opportunity to show my paintings at a local fair. They will provide a 6' table and 2 chairs. As this is my first public display, I am unsure how to arrange for displaying/hanging my art (most of my watercolors are 16" x 20" matted, although I do have a number of smaller ones. My painting are either framed or matted, backed and in sealed bags.

I don't believe there will be wall space around my display area, but I'm not sure as I haven't received all the info yet. I really need help to set something up that will showcase my paintings but not cost me a lot.

Suggestions and help please!!,       new to selling,  Darlene.

I don't know whether this will help or not or even how much doing it would cost having only seen others do so rather than having tried it myself...
a lady at the local farmers market made "wallspace" for herself by getting some of that latice wood fencing in large size and tying it to the sides of her gazebo/awning. then she hung her stuff on that. she was selling quil,ts and quilted wall hangings, but it might work for art display? Maybe someone else has a better idea. I have been trying to solve the same problem--only virtually none of my work is matted or framed or even in plastic bags because of lack of funds.
