I was wondering if anyone has sold their art on Imagekind.com.
You put your work on the site and they do the rest.  They sell, print and send the art. Does anyone know about this.  Sounds like a good idea since you don't have to layout any money to print your work.  They just print it as needed.  I don't know the quality or reliability of their work.  Any information would be appreciated.

I think the idea is great. It's not original, other sites such as Art.com have been doing it longer, but IK seems to have a loyal following. If you search on www.wetcanvas.com in the General Art Business forum for Imagekind, you'll find plenty of opinions about it and other sites it competes with such as www.finerworks.com. The drawbacks are the site's search function is not that buyer friendly, meaning it can be hard for someone to find you and the traffic is much lower than Art.com.

The blog, www.emptyeasel.com provides some in-depth analysis of many online sites where artists can sell their work.

Thanks for the input. I'll continue to research before deciding on one.

I was going to post about this company to get feedback and I see someone has beat me to it. My question would be has anyone actually used them, or the other referenced finerworks.com, and actually sold their work, made a profit, like the quality of the product, etc.

It seems like a good idea, especially for those of us just starting out and are trying to start and build a loyal fan based.

I would love to hear from someone who has actually used their services. I've seen the postings at WetCanvas. My concern is the competition with old masters and photographers.

Wishing you peace and prosperity,
Naomi
