have tried and tried to post a picture of my work on here and no matter what I do, it will not let me make such a post (although I can post what I write all I want). If someone who can post pictures would be so kind as to let me e-mail your the photo of the painting, then post it for me ..... it sure would be great. Troy Large PS when using Linux I get the message that my picture file has an error (which it does not .... it would seem the web page simply does not know how to understand anything but Microsoft) When I take the dust off of the old Microsoft XP, and come here, I get the message that I don't have permission to post pictures here ..... yet, in both I can write all I want!

Are your photos small enough? (approx 2x4 inches) Are you saving them as jpg format? Is your pixel count too high? I had trouble at first until I figured it all out. Just keep trying. Good luck.

I have played and played with it, but still no luck. Finnaly I had the idea of placing it on another site and just giving a link here as being the next best thing. You can see it at .....

I checked out the photo, nicely done. It looks a little blurred, but I like the composition and colors, a very pleasing scene.

Thank you again for posting my painting here!

Yes, it is blurred on two counts. 1) the digital camera I have is almost as old a steam engines, 2) I changed the digital image about 4000 time in an effort to post it here, which I know didn't help it!

If you where to stand in front of the drawing, you would see that the shrubs and bushes are bits of pastel ground onto the paper in a few thousand dots or so ..... no blending there. However, the stream (yes, that sidewalk is actually water in real life!) is highly blended, and thus blurred, as is, to a lesser extent, the hill in the background.

I have a long ways to go ....... but the going sure is fun!

Thanks again Hetherm!

Doing this without blending is a great job! I cannot resist blending at least a little, I just love the feel on my fingers doing that. I blend in oils too, with fingers and brush, I am an incorrigible blender.

I'm also experiencing the same issues. Can the web-site administrator point out to us novice users, where on the Artists Network a description of how to post images or customize our digital images as to be acceptable to this website? I'm using a Macintosh computer, which may be an problem in itself. Thank you.

I'm experiencing the same problems, submitting my digital images from my Macintosh computer. Would it be possible for the site-administrator to point out where on the ArtistNetwork site is a detailed description of the procedure to follow to submit images, and what customized the size and format of the image will be acceptable to this website? Thank you for your help

Hi Claudia, I also use a MAC. Here's the easiest way I've found to post on this forum. In I-Photo, after I choose the image, I click on e-mail. You will automatically be promted for the size - I choose small (240 x 320 - giving 63 KB) mail the photo to myself. Then I drag the image from my e-mail to my desktop. When I go to the forum (oil or whatever), the instructions for posting are at the very bottom of the page. Hope this helps - I don't customize anything the "small" image size is fine for posting on the site.

Mac is not a problem. I have Mac and in the begining I had a problem. My daughter taught me
how to correct the problem. Click on image and start with 300k. then press save and get image
up to 100k.That's what you need to post on the internet.

Thank to everyone for your prompt suggestions. I finally got the painting downloaded using Materese's strategy. Worked like a charm! Might be good idea to include this solution in a FAQ section or in an area for first-time user's problem-solving, for this site useage.

I agree that we need more help with Mac instructions. Materese method looks good. The few photos of my art that I have posted I chose the particular image via the finder wimdow under the pictures folder, clicked on that and clicked open. You'll have to go to iPhoto first and see which number .jpg image it is. I still don't know how to resize photos, other than e-mailing them to myself.
