I am new here.  I am looking for a really good landscape book. One that shows how to do landscapes realistically in oil or acrylic. I have looked at many but the lack of detail has always left me disappointed. Hope someone can help. I really love the realistic styles of Terry Isaac, Kyle Sims, Daniel Smith, and Derek C. Wicks. I would like to find a book that goes in that direction although I know none will be exactly as this. Thanks for any input in advance.

I think it might depend on your style. I know of two artists that go for both oil and pastels. I have taken classes with both artists and enjoyed the instruction. If i dont get logged out before I finish my amazon search I will post them for you.

Both artists are plein air painters. But it really depends on your style of work. What I can say and recommend is that mother nature is your best teacher. There are also some excellent demo videos on you tube. Larry Seiler is one that I am thinking of. Hope that helps
