Hola all!
I am fairly new to being an artist, though the ideas and thoughts I come up with have never stopped since I was a wee lad. Now, I am acting on them and making some pretty cool things.
Anyways, my question today is this. I was recently in IKEA here in Canada, and I saw a wall hanging that was really unique. Here is a link to it. It is in the RIDA line.
I will give you a bit of info on it. It is a very big hanging, and is slightly see-through. I have a text-based painting that I want to recreate in this same fashion, but am unsure how. The thing that struck me about it was not the actual content (the DaVinci model), but the type of wall hanging. It being see-through and huge really appeals to me.
Material: The website says 100% polyester. I don't really know what to use. Suggestions? Maybe the next set of info will help with that...
Technique: It looks like a big print. I obviously am going to be drawing/painting my idea on to it. Any idea on the type of paint I should use? I always use acrylic because it is all I know. I want whatever I use to be light (heavy-wise, not colour-wise) so as to keep the piece as airy as possible.
Does any of this make sense? I would really appreciate any feedback! Thanks in advance.
