thought i might have a go at monotyping, seeing if i can use it in the future.

basic questions.

1. Whats the best paper to use?

2. When it says "damp" paper, how damp..is damp?

3. Will perspex work (as havnt got glass or zinc)?

4. Does the surface have to be smooth or rough?

5. Can the image be placed onto Canvas (linen or cotton)?

would be very grateful for any guidance on the subject. As it hasnt been very successful so far.

We did monotype in art class last year. Most of us used watersoluble crayons with finely sanded plexiglass panels, which served us well.. My teacher used 100% rag paper, and there is special printmaking paper out there.
