Is it- 20X30 or 30X20?
I am setting up a website to sell my wifes paintings and my photography and wasn´t sure how to display her painting dimension.
Is it, width X height, or height X width.
I checked other sites to see what the standard was and saw both ways displayed.
While I am here does anyone have any advice when it comes to shipping canvas only (painting removed from stretcher and rolled up).

Ok, nobody else is answering, so I am going to throw my opinion in...I think it is usually standard to say width x length and then specify if it is a horizontal piece or a vertical piece. If you are rolling the canvas, I know that if it is oil, you roll it with the image on the outside, and if it is acrylic, you roll it with image on the inside, or the paint will crack. It has to do with the chemical bond of the paint and how it bends. Either way, use a peice of parchment paper, larger than the image, next to the image, roll it and put it in a tube stuffed with tussue paper at either end. Hope that helps. |
