Thanks, everyone, for the comments. Barb, I agree with you, my fish is too high in the water (or appears to be on top of it, especially with the small scale of my lily pads). While I like the dark murky water, I went blacker than the reference photo which looks murky green to me. LOL, maybe because I am working on a series of vegetable still lifes in watercolor and boy, is there a LOT of green in them! I will be glazing that fishy deeper into the pond. I liked painting the fish and I think his size in proportion to everything else ran away with me! We actually have a koi pond (very small) in our backyard, and ours are very fat. I love your version (one fish), Priti, and it is such fun to see through all the different pairs of eyes.

I've been workng on a website, printing posters of the buffalo painting and getting a giclee done so I've been "away" for awhile. Everyone's response to the first photo is fabulous!
Nancie, you mention that #2 is up and running; I haven't seen it yet, but I'll look for it.

I just saw this, and am intrigued by it. Even though I am late, I think I will try it. In oils.      Poetroy

So I just got here and found this wonderful creative event but cannot find the new photo challenge. Is there one? Do you still need photos? Can I play too?

Yes, yes, yes - please come play, too, Margy! The more participants we have, the more fun it is and the more encouraging it is! The current challenge is "Parakeet". I wasn't in a position to begin "playing" until several challenges in and I really don't have time to do them all, but I do what I can and post when I can - even if it's late. Looking forward to seeing your posts!
