I love to sculpt with a seed pod called a Devil's Claw. They are grown from a weed called a Unicorn Plant. The plant itself is rather large with 4 inch thick stems and ever growing leaves. It's covered in a sticky substance that attracts and kills bugs (minus worms, which love to eat the fruit). The Unicorn fruit will dry and make the dramatic transformation from green, smooth horn to rough, sharp devil claw. The seed pod is dangerous for its two sharp horns, or claws. The points are sharp enough to draw blood! They have been outlawed in states with lots of cattle because these wild weeds can injure the hooves of livestock. I have been pricked many times with them while sculpting. Thier unique wood like look makes them great for sculpture. They are thick, durable, and bendable. They can be cut with wire cutters and used for everything from natural sculpture to dream catchers! Please look at my Devil Claw sculptures to see what I have done with them. I sell commissioned sculptures and I can even color them to any specification. Thanks, and enjoy!
